How I work
I am a clinical social worker and advanced EMDR practitioner with extensive experience supporting adults through trauma and complex mental health challenges. I spent several years living and working in remote Central Australia, where I supported people navigating layered and often confronting life experiences. That chapter shaped the depth and steadiness I bring to my work today. I am now based in Hobart, Nipaluna.
Before I became a therapist, I was a client. I understand what it feels like to sit in the chair and speak about things that feel vulnerable or uncertain. That lived perspective informs how I practise. My intention is to offer therapy that feels grounded, attuned and genuinely useful. You deserve to feel understood, respected and supported, and to leave each session with insight or direction that moves you forward.
I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and I am also an ADHDer. I bring a neurodivergent-informed lens to my work and recognise both the challenges and strengths that come with navigating systems that are not always designed for difference. My approach is not formulaic. I work relationally and collaboratively, tailoring therapy to your history, your goals and the pace that feels right for you.
Outside of sessions, I spend time in nature or at home with my cat and a book. Both help me stay grounded and present so I can offer my clients thoughtful, focused care.
If you are looking for therapy that is warm, professional and deeply considered, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
